Because of you...

Both Avery and Brad were baptised this weekend! The sermon at their service was about remembering to give thanks...Specifically, it was about remembering to thank some of those people in your lives that you often take forgranted. We filled out cards to give to some of those often forgotten that said "Because of you..." (and we filled in after the ...) It was a good message, and it reminded me that it is because of Him that we are here, because of Him that we have hope and because of Him that we have love.

And today, it is because of Him that we we had the joyous occasion of baptism where commitments were made to to continually keep Him in mind as they - both Avery and Brad - grow in God's love.I so appreciate Kason in on this sweet family picture...After prayer...

Bouncing the Night Away

My conversation with the almost 4-year-old...

Me: "G, what do you think about not having a party with your friends this year and just having a BIG one with your family when your cousins and everybody come to town."

G: "Mommy, I do not think so!"

Well, at least I tried! It was not that we did not want to have a party...It is just that we were wondering how we were going to be able to "fit" it all in this weekend! We just had so much going on! Yet, I could never let my 4-year-old down, and we assuredly found a way to make it work!

We celebrated at Bounce with some of his favorite friends, and had the most wonderful time with our friends AND family!

We had cake...Pizza...Opened presents...Bounced...But the best part about the evening...spending time with friends and family!I know it is G's birthday; however, I cannot not comment on Pebbles and BamBam...otherwise known and Ballerina and Noah. Their young love is blossoming...Happy, happy, happy 4th birthday!

Uncommon Celebrations

On the kids' birthday we always take them for a special breakfast and let them pick out a special treat to share with their class.

G decided to go to Shipley' s for breakfast. Not an uncommon choice.Notice he was not keen on me taking his picture. He said, "I am already tired of pictures, and my birthday just started!" He!

However, what was uncommon to me was that when we went to pick out the treat to share with his class, this is what he chose...Yep, Cheetos. But, these could not be just ANY Cheetos, they HAD to be the "healthy" Cheetos. (We had a discussion on Tuesday about how we sometimes eat too much "junk food," and he we had talked about how chips are not necessairly good for you.)

My sweet boy was also insistent that he buy a flower for each one of his teachers. He said they make him smile, and he wanted to make them smile on his 4th birthday!
Happy Birthday G!

Today

Today, well actually a little after 1 in the morning, 4 years ago this is the gift the Lord gave us.
(Don't you love the glare from the windows at the hospital?)
We knew immediately he was perfect.
He warms our hearts in ways beyond words. And he makes us smile like no other can.Happy, happy birthday G! We love you!
