Already Dating

A first date is a big deal.

A first date for my little girl was something I thought I would not have to experience for a long while. And, it was something I figured Eric would have a lot more aversions to than myself. You know, as the dad and all... :)

I do, however, want my daughter to one day grow up to meet the man of her dreams.

I want that man to treat her like a princess. I want that man to believe in her when no one else does. I wan that man to stand beside her. I want a man to give her strength and encouragement when she needs it and doesn't know it. I want that man to be patient. I want that man to be make her be spontaneous. I want that man to have confidence and goals -- for himself --her -- for them. I want that man to love his family deeply. I want that man to laugh with her. I want that man to dream with her. And, perhaps most of all, I want a man for her that has great faith in the Lord.

I want a man for her just like her Daddy.

So, in preparation -- to make sure she chooses one day (a long time from now) to go on a date with another man -- this weekend she went on her first one ever with her Daddy.

We set the bar high. We want her to never expect less.Their date was long awaited and much anticipated. Here she is in front of the carriage...
Her two friends and their Daddys went with them.
See?It was a very special evening. Dressed in fancy dresses and wearing corsages, they went on a carriage ride. They had a snazzy dinner. And, then they had ice cream. They had such a good time -- the girls AND their dads!

It was assuredly a night to remember...

Our hope -- That every year - no matter their age - that these girls choose to go on a date with their dad. All too soon these little girls will be choosing to date someone else, but my prayer is that they always remember their first true love - their Daddy.

Love Parties

It was this little Rose's first Valentine's Day.
She was excited that I was able to come to her school for a while to celebrate with her sister!Ballerina wasn't as stoked about me coming to her party as she was about her sister coming to her school party! Go figure! I wonder how long she will still be so excited to see her sister...It makes me so happy that she is so happy to see her. I think Ballerina was the most excited about her Valentine cards. She was so proud that she signed them all by herself! Oh, I should have taken a picture of one! Dang, I forgot. :(Rose was pretty interested in the table cloth at the party...I love their little school parties. They are precious. They are so hectic for me to get to (right in the middle of my work day); however, I wouldn't miss them for the world. All too soon these little loves in my life will be grown...
