Current Thoughts

Mostly I wanted to say that having my computer re-imaged bites. I was just now able to take it in because the 1st of my external hard-drives did not hold all of the contents of my computer...Well, to be specific, it did not hold the almost 32,000 pictures I had. (All of my work is really overrated...it was the pictures I really cared about!)

Now I am confident that because I wanted until the last minute that it will take forever to get it back. Oh, well...It is my fault!

So, what have we been up to lately? Short answer: Summer school and house projects.

I LOVE teaching summer school. I miss being in the classroom in so many ways, and having the fill of having my own students (even if it is just for a few weeks) delights my soul. I need my own class to rejuvenate me for the upcoming year! The only thing that is cruddy is that I sometimes feel as if I cannot make much of a difference for many of the kids when I only have them for such a short while. Booo...such is the situation, and I will have to accept is and simply do my best.

I was a little bummed today because two of my favorite students were suspended because they decided to walk the halls and disturb others instead of eat. Granted, they were not doing what they were supposed to be doing, but them not being here makes my afternoon pretty boring. It stinks when there is no one to make fun of you or to criticize your teaching, handwriting, voice, outfit, hair... :)

We have also been tackling some minor projects around the house. Yea, we haven't officially finished any of them yet, but there are good intentions to do such in the coming days. When we do, I will let you know! :0

Okay, I am going to be productive...

G Spring Sports

This spring was the first time that G played baseball! I was pretty opposed to baseball (not because I do not like it, but rather because I thought he would not have the patience for it).

However, I was stoked that he loved it so much!

He even got MVP of his 2nd game! (He did not know what MVP was at the first game, and after a conversation with him he became determined that he would get it for the 2nd! ha!)And, he also kept up with his soccer! I laugh because he was so concerned that he was doing two sports and wanted to make sure that we had "time" for everything; however, by then end of the season he decided that we needed to be sure that he had a sport for EVERY day of the week!

So, he has decided that in the fall we will also be swimming, taking gymnastics, football, hockey and tennis. Just so you know, there is no way we will be doing this! He has lost his mind!Eric and I believe passionately that the kids should be raised to support each other in their endeavors...no matter what they may be. So, we do our best to have the entire family at as many games as feasibly possible. (With 4 of them going in 4 different directions, this is often much easier said than done, but we truly do our best!)

See?We are all there as much as we can be...
We had such a great spring! We cannot wait until fall!

Lost and Found Berry Picking Adventures

I lost... and then found some pictures from this spring!

I will try to get them up sometime this week, but I thought I would share one of the best days we had...BERRY PICKING! We always go berry picking every year, but this year we went with just the little ones and had the most amazing time!

It was the first year that Ballerina really understood what to do, and she had an absolute blast!Inevitably G would find the patch of the biggest berries! We also saw lots of nature we do not get to see unless we take the time to do such...and it was awesome!Until I post more of the lost and found pictures...

Daddy's Birthday

So, Daddy has been hinting for a long time that he wanted a truck, but I have sort-of been ignoring him (for a lack of a better description of my participation in the conversations we have had about the situation). We decided a couple of years ago that we did not need a truck any more...that we needed a vehicle that provided more room for the kids than we needed something that could haul things. I really saw no reason for us to revisit this agreement...afterall, I was in good shape.

He had such a different picture.

So, one evening I said, "Sure, you can buy any truck you want as long as the payments are what we are paying now or less." Why did I say this? Well, because I thought it was an impossible task!

I should have known better...

Less than 24hours later, we had a new truck...Just in time for Daddy's birthday! We had a super low-key, last-minute celebration with the fam at the usual Monday night dinner joint... (I know this is unsual for us!)...where the little ones begged us all to "crack" their "nuts." (Yea, we work at a middle school, and thought it was funny too!)Daddy put Frog to sleep. Ha! (I think they were having a pretty deep conversation, but man, they both look bored!)I do not really want to know what Daddy and Uncle Justin are doing here...especially since I DID NOT take this picture! Hummm....We decided since Daddy got himself a new truck that we would not be buying any gifts, but this decision did not sit well with the tender-hearted G!

He spent HOURS making and wrapping Daddy a present for his birthday!I do not know, but I think Daddy might have actually been MORE excited about this present from G than he was about his new truck! There is NO sweeter picture to me! :)

Happy birthday Daddy! We love you!
