I Stink At Blogging Part III: Mommy's Dress

A long, long time ago (something like 30 years...YIKES!)... when I was 2 years old...My Mommy took me to have my picture taken in this red and white dress.See?

Well, not too long ago my parents "officially" moved out of the house where I spent the majority of my childhood. Them moving out of the Katy house meant that we were officially given all of the "goodies" my mother saved for us. (I should really make a post about this alone...We have some REALLY awesome stuff...mostly because my mom is a much better mother than I am and kept/organized all of these things...and it was an absolute blast going through the tubs of "stuff!")

In one of the many boxes of memorabilia I was sorting through with my two-year-old onlooker was this red and white dress!

And, once it was discovered, it was a MUST that she put it on...IMMEDIATELY!

Thus, there are now pictures of the next generation in the red and white dress, and it really could NOT be more precious.
Don't you think?
I was a little ticked that she picked all of the pansies from the bed around my mailbox, but she was still cute so I forgave her.
I was then a little more annoyed with the fact that she insisted on digging in the disgusting sandbox wearing Mommy's dress, but again, because she is so cute I forgave her.
You know...super cute!
Just so you know, Ballerina insisted on wearing the dress to Target that afternoon, to school the next day, to the soccer game, to the grocery store, choir practice...At first I was a little annoyed with her persistence, but it now delights me...There is nothing sweeter than a little one in her mommy's dress.

I Stink At Blogging: Part II - The Couples Shower

So, the weekend after it snowed we had a fun couples shower for my babiest brother, Kason, and his soon-to-be-wife, Carla.
It was a His-n-Hers sort of shower...We served lasagna and wine for her and pizza and beer for him on this Valentine's themed party. You know we did all of the normal things you do at showers like eat cake and open gifts...And take a ridiculous amount of posed pictures with our family...A prime example would be this picture of the 5 original Knight siblings that we feel it is ever so important to take each and every time we are together.I would have been sad if we did not take this one of Carla and all her sisters! And Carla and Kason with Carla's family...But, I am not so sure this one of Kason and all his brothers (minus Joe) is really necessary. I mean, their pose is pretty horrible! However, I fear they think that is is "cute." Ohhh....men!

It is also necessary each and every time all of the grandkids get together for us to attempt to take their picture. I sometimes wonder why we torture ourselves with this task. It has never really worked out before, and I do not know why we insist on thinking that it is going to work any better each and every time we attempt it! This time Adam was not really interested in participating...next time it will be a different one...
It takes us forever to pose for all of the pictures we insist on taking...but we also played some corny games...The Newlywed Game is always fun, and it makes me laugh that the parents never win this thing! What is up with that? Way to go Kason and Carla! There was also a game where all of the women kissed Kason and he had to pick out Carla while blindfolded from the crew. And one where Carla had to pick out Kason's legs from the line-up behind the blanket...Of course, it is just not a party unless the couple of honor makes a fool of themselves doing something silly like getting dressed for their honeymoon while blindfolded!
So cute! And, if I knew what he was doing with the doll at the party...or what they were doing together at the party, I am sure I would have more comments! Yet, since I have no clue really, I will refrain from making any comments that would probably be completely inappropriate for this child-friendly blog.

All-in-all it was a fabulous time at Kason and Carla's Couples Shower...and so very soon they will be wed! Perhaps I should start blogging about their wedding now...That might be the ONLY possibility that I will get it published before the end of summer! Ha!

I Stink At Blogging: Part I

I know...I stink at this blogging thing.

I have not even tried.

I do not want to lie.

It is just that I have been swamped lately...No, I do not really know what with, but I have been seriously busy.

So, let me begin my catching you up!

In February it snowed. I do not really remember when exactly, but G loved the white stuff! He REALLY enjoyed it...He also enjoyed the hot chocolate he was drinking from his little cousin's cup!Kicking things that he was not really supposed to be kicking...And making angels in the snow!Ballerina, on the other hand, was far less amused by this snow.
To be more specific, she was pretty darn grouchy about participating in anything outside!
I convinced her (with bribes) to try to make a snowman...However, her participation in this endeavor only lasted a few minutes before she decided to just sit down!Oh, Ballerina...You are absolutely a piece of work!I did manage to get one smile from our family diva before we went inside.

Until tomorrow...I PROMISE! I WILL HAVE LOTS OF UPDATES!
