This evening we decided that the boys really needed some haircuts. Grayson really likes to get his haircut, so he was pretty geared up as we got into the car.
Eric and I noticed that he had some markers and some paper, but he said he had some "homework" that he was going to complete in the car. Being the fine parents we are, we did not question 1. why the just turned 3-year-old had homework or 2. why he needed a marker. We simply thought nothing of the situation.
This would be mistake #1.
On the way to the barber shop Grayson even asked us to help him with a lid...he was having trouble getting the lid off the blue marker, and he really "needed" it for his "person" he was drawing.
Mistake #2.
Eric and I had a great conversation the entire way...about what food we might like to eat when we get home! (Imagine us talking/planning about food! Who would figure!?!?!?)
Mistake #3. Grown-ups cannot have a conversation in a car that does not include children.
Therefore, when we arrived at the barber shop we realized all of our mistakes, and we were oh, so blue about it...
Yep, Grayson had "colored his person" (otherwise known as himself) blue from head to toe! Even the bottom of his feet were blue! AND, the INSIDE of his nose! (I failed to mention they were smelly markers!) This picture DOES NOT do justice...he was FAR BLUER than that!
We got his haircut with him looking like that, and we even ran a couple of errands afterwards! Grayson felt there was nothing to be blue about, so we did not either!
