Fishing With Daddy

Fishing is something you should experience with your Daddy.

I remember going fishing with my Dad when I was little, and while I do not remember catching a darn thing, I do remember the experience with great fondness.

I remember the first time Eric took G fishing...We received a call from G's school and were told that he was "sick." Yet, when I returned home from the day I discovered there were several fish on the counter and some fine pictures of G looking not very sick at all out at the pond!

I remember one of the first times that Eric took Cannon fishing...They went to the park and came home having caught quite a few, and Cannon was, unsurprisingly, stoked! In the driveway Eric explained that it was time to take the fish inside so they could "clean" them. Sadly, at the tender age of 4 when Daddy said this, Cannon took him literally! Oh, and the shriek that ensued when Daddy pulled out the knife and chopped off the fish's head! Through the tears Cannon mutters, "I thought Daddy was going to clean them...with soap!"

Lesson learned...

So, this past weekend after Daddy went to the coast with Papa and caught a few fish, I decided I was not going to participate in any cleaning of them! No way! I did not want to have to explain that situation to any other of our children!

After all, fishing is something you do with Daddy! Right? However, I was shocked that the two youngest were not the least bit turned off by the cleaning of the fish. In fact, the opposite would be more accurate...they were enthralled!
Who would have guessed? Not me!

Off to cook some of that fine fish...

All Ready!

I received this picture on my email this evening from one of the coaches...
Tonight was the schedule pick-up night at our school. Daddy and the other coaches always hand out football equipment on schedule pick-up night, and while they were busy the boys decided to hand out some equipment to themselves!

Funny...When I got out to the gym to meet Eric, the boys were in the middle of the football field TACKLING each other in their shoulder pads and helmets! It was a riot!

Oh, the years of this we have to come...

Color in a Line

Ballerina has a new obsession...putting things in lines.Specifically crayons.
The $.25 crayons I bought in the masses at Wal-Mart!
We use the tile to guide our lines...
And, like the potty, we are SO proud of ourself!

Sad

So, now that we are "officially" back at work, I guess this sort of summer thing is over....Sad! Sad! Sad!

Ballerina's Proudest Moment...

It seems as if Ballerina has taken to the potty at school. Day 1 back at school and the report said that she had gone twice during the day. I was so flabbergasted that I asked the teacher if they had accidentally mixed up the reports (I mean, we could never even get her to SIT on the potty!)
To say that she is not the least bit interested in it at home would be a MAJOR understatement! In fact, when I ask if she needs to go potty she runs away screaming, "I'm scared! I 'm scared Mommy! Nooooooo!"

Thus, I have taken to bribing her at home.

Yes, I am that kind of mother...

She sits, and she gets a M&M. She goes, and she gets TWO M&Ms! What a deal, huh?

Yet, despite the fact that we have been sitting for about a month now, she has never gotten more than 1 M&M...that is until yesterday!

She was SO PROUD of herself...Screaming for Daddy to come and see!
Pure excitement that she is able to get some toilet paper! (I would never let her have any until there was a REASON!)
Asking for me to get her brothers!
Now screaming for her Daddy!
My sweet princess is growing up...I just pray this is not her only throne!

Daddy v. G in Sprinkler Football

It has been so darn hot lately...Yet, I am STILL determined to keep my grass somewhat green (even when our water bill was 4 times our normal bill last month)! Yes, I know I have a problem...and no, I do not really care to fix it. I just do not want the mowing season to end...I LOVE it (and I am not being sarcastic for once!)

Thus, I am having to run the sprinklers every day it seems! It stinks!

However, G is stoked by my necessity because he has a new found love of playing in them! And, challenging Daddy to a game of football IN the sprinklers...even MORE FUN!
Yea, I agree G, Daddy probably cheated! Ha!
