Generations of Family

It saddens me that it is not often at all that my children see their great-grandparents. They are blessed to have a great-grandfather on Eric's side and a great-grandmother on my side that are still with us!

Eric and I both have rich memories and special places in our hearts for our grandparents. And while our relationships with our grandparents are so incredibly different, they are cherished in the same manner. We both, in many ways, see our grandparents in an almost legendary light, and I pray that we have spoken enough, recalled enough and shared enough for them not to just know their heritage... but to respect it and to have pride in it!

I think this is why it saddens me so that we do not make more time to see Nana and Arnol.

Yet, with Cambrey, Zachary and Adam in town, we had an excuse to see Nana! So , on Sunday afternoon we made the trip to Houston to have lunch with Nana. After Adam and Ballerina fought, we attempted to take a picture of them all with Nana!
After numerous attempts, this is as good as it got! Awesome huh! I particularly enjoy the expressions on each of their faces. :) Gunnar is clearly disgusted, and I am confident that Ballerina is giving Adam the evil eye!
However, this is why we came...May we have many more pictures like this...
