Making Choices

I am choosing to ignore the fact that the oldest will be heading to intermediate school in the fall and will no longer be that the elementary school that I have grown accustomed to him being. Therefore, I will not be showing pictures of the 4th grade swim party where they celebrated the end of their elementary school career...Instead, I am making the choice to show pictures of what I would choose to do every evening if we could...And, of all the choices I am making, I AM certainly making the choice to publish the picture of G peeing... Absolutely!

No, Not Me!

There are certain things I swore I would never do as a mother...

I was never going to let my children in wander in Target wearing an outfit they had worn for 4 days straight, barefoot with a snotty nose. Nope, I was never going to do something like that!

Yea, I was not going to be the kind of mother to let her daughter roam the street in a diaper or her son to play with friends his friends in the front yard in his underwear...Nor was I ever going to be the kind of mother that ever forgot about school pictures, left lunch boxes at home, or counted swimming as baths for the evening.

But, all of those things that I swore I would never do, I have certainly done, so why was I holding out on driving the minivan that I swore I would never drive?
Yea, I do not know...Of all the things I swore I would never do as a mother, holding out on the "kid's limo" was the craziest!

Final Review 2009

So, yea, I have been missing...

It has been a wildly busy few weeks, and I promise to catch all up as soon as I can; however, for now, an update from Kason's junior year Final Review will have to do!

I got my camera back from the "camera hospital" just before the event...The boys are not usually too interested in my picture taking obsession; however, they were far more interested in playing along since they have not had the silly thing in their face in a few weeks!Oh, and they were also pretty stinkin' excited to see Uncle Kason's boots...The weather was ucky, but it did not damper the excitement of the afternoon's festivities.....or G's fascination! He stood alone in the stands enthralled with the ceremony. When we looked up he was marching and directing the band! I wish I could say that Ballerina cared, but she did not...She just clung to Carla and her baby!It makes me feel really old for my baby brother to be the Aggie Band Commander! But, B-Co and Katy represent! Corps Commander AND Band Commander! Whoop! The Aggie Band Commander has a pretty cool saber......so does the Corps Commander...And, yes, the Dads liked to play with them! NO COMMENTS!Pullin' boots!
Whoop! His boots!

Duck Jammin'

Our weekends....Well, they are always jam packed! And, like always, this past weekend was jammed packed -- with fun!Between rounds of soccer, we headed out to Duck Jam to meet up with a big group of our "adult" friends! However, the kids happened to have a great time too!We has a blast..too bad we were not able to stay longer! We cannot wait until next year!

Two Cousins

When two cousins so close in age live so far away from each other they do not get to do this often...And, let's be honest, these two cousins will not be able to do this for long! Yet, while they are young, they will have a blast cherishing the few times they WILL be able to do this together!

We will meet for bath time again in July!
So, I went away to CA for the weekend...(Perhaps the first time I had REALLY been away from the family!)And, I came home with a REALLY bad black eye...There is a story about the black eye, but I am too embarrassed to tell it. Likewise, I am also too embarrassed to share any group pictures from the trip because of it also!

Let's just say I am an idiot! What else is new? And, tomorrow I am to get x-rays of my face...
