Unusual Happenings

There were some really unusual happenings in our neck of the woods yesterday...

First, G and Ballerina were honored to have Uncle Kason as their babysitter yesterday morning. Now, this is a pretty darn unusual happening. In fact, I cannot recall another time that he has taken this task on alone!

He, however, did a fine job...got them both dressed (G was in cowboy boots, but whatever), made them breakfast, completed some chores (fixed his truck), etc. And, I am proud to report that there was just one small mishap...

G did some fine coloring of the garage floor in "magic" markers...that I know better as permanent markers...I bet Uncle Kason was glad Grandma Becky came to his rescue!

Yet, just as unusual...It rained! I cannot remember the last time it REALLY rained!

So, I thought it would be fun for Cinderella to play in the rain. I dressed her in her swimsuit, put some of her favorite toys in the yard, etc. Yet, she refused to come out of the garage! I do not know if she was more frightened of her crazy mother in the rain or perplexed by the stuff falling from the sky! Either way, she was NOT interested!
(Did you notice G's artwork on the floor?)

However, it is clearly NOT because she is opposed to having things fall on her head...She does that quite well to herself!

Another unusual...Well, it seems Ballerina is now into climbing, and while that is not all that impressive for a 13month old, what was unusual to me was that I found her perched on a sofa with a marker and paper coloring as if she was 10!Then, she ate the marker...that was more of what is normal around our house!
But perhaps the most unusual happening is that G took a nap today! I do not know what has happened, but he decided that he is no longer into naps. He proclaims that "big boys" do not take naps. While this declaration is somewhat difficult to combat when he has two older brothers, I feel many of my tactics to persuade him otherwise are more than convincing, and I believe my reasoning for him needing naps are simply clearer to comprehend. (My most convincing argument...if you still want a pacifier like a baby, you should still take a nap like a baby!)

The funniest thing is hearing Kason tell this story! I think he was proud the children survived his supervision but let's just say Kason won't be having kids any time soon! haha

I was cracking up at Ella not leaving the garage and the image I got of you standing out in the pouring rain trying to lure her out...HA HA!! :)

The pictures are adorable! Now, whenever G insists that "big boys don't take naps" you can show him that picture and say, "Oh yes, they do!" :)
